We offer plumbing design services in the architectural conception stage of a project to assist developers in planning and implementing complex plumbing systems. The result is enhanced coordination and production of all aspects of a plumbing system that in turn eliminates unnecessary costs. Our design capabilities encompass renovation and new construction for commercial retail/office, healthcare, historic rehabs, hotels, institutional/education and residential buildings.

We are able to to minimize the total cost of a project, by utilizing our expertise in the installation and design of plumbing systems. Note that the total cost covers the lifetime of the plumbing system, including items such as utility cost, equipment life-cycle, replacement and maintenance costs.

We believe that in order to deliver a “Lean” product the design process from the beginning needs to involve the contracting team, the engineer, the owner, and the architect. To maximize the functionality of the plumbing system according to the end-user’s requirements, needs and wants while attempting to maximize the environmental benefit, and minimize the overall total project cost communication between all parties is key. We will specifically request that “End Users” are present at some of these design meetings so that we can add items that were inadvertently omitted or that would have had to have been added at a later date at a much higher cost and eliminate or relocate unnecessary or awkwardly located items. This communication established during the design process needs to continue throughout the process to reveal opportunities to add value at minimal cost or to provide savings for “over-engineering”. Our office staff has a combined 113 years of plumbing experience, which we will use to assist in the final design of the plumbing system.

A plumbing system cannot provide any satisfaction to the end-user unless it is designed with the end-user in mind. To this point, we will communicate and work with the owner’s representative an attempt to gauge the end-users to actual desires and needs for the plumbing systems before and during the system design and installation phases. This will result in minimizing any post-construction changes due to end-user requests and possibly result in elimination of un-needed or problematic fixtures and equipment, and also give the end-user exactly the plumbing system they need. We will also use our experience from post-construction call-backs and solutions we provided to solve other contactor’s installations to design the plumbing system to provide years of trouble-free and minimized maintenance service.

Our firm has a policy of accepting bids from the lowest, most qualified bidders, and especially encourages MBE and WBE firms and contractors to submit their cost proposals to us to review. As a Construction Team Member, we work in conjunction with a variety of firms, including MBE and WBE, to consult their input into our design and then request quotations for their respective line of work. In addition, we attempt to maintain a high level of minority workforce participation through the assistance of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562. It is our goal to award a minimum of 25% to MBE Firms and an additional 5% to WBE firms, however the final percentages will vary based upon actual bids received from different entities and the project requirements.
